Our Last Regular Meeting – Tuesday 21st October

RWM Bro Alan Beck RWM Bro Hugh Docherty
Yet another splendid evening was enjoyed in the Lodge on 21st October.  The Fellowcraft Degree ceremony was carried out by our friends from Lodge Crawfurdsburn Greenock No 1121. Lodge Crawfurdsburn brought a deputation of over 20 brethren led by RWM Bro Hugh Docherty.  Thereafter the degree was worked in a very sincere and accomplished manner.

We had a stellar array of RWMs in the Lodge too – Bros William Lawson (Lodge Doric Kilwinning No 68) Marshall North (Lodge Greenock St John’s No 175) Gerry Robertson (Lodge Cumberland Kilwinning No 217) Andrew Piggot (Lodge Firth of Clyde Gourock No 626) Robert Marshall (Lodge Sir Michael No 989) and Mike Daily (Lodge Douglas No 1557).  Bro Lawson spoke on behalf of the Visiting Brethren.

There has been a close relationship between the Lodges for many years.  Back in the early days of Lodge Crawfurdsburn, Bro RL Scott PM of No XII was a generous supporter of the 1121 building fund and also presented the Tracing Boards that Lodge Crawfurdsburn uses to this day.  The Mark Degree tools used in No XII were presented by Lodge Crawfurdsburn in 1916 as was the Contribution Box still used in our First Degree ceremony.

2013 was the Centenary of the foundation of Lodge Crawfurdsburn. No XII was honoured to be asked to confer the degree at 1121’s Centenary meeting.  At the Centenary Dinner, Bro Alan Beck’ RWM of No XII entertained the brethren in song and Bro Iain White PM proposed the Toast to Lodge Crawfurdsburn.  Bro Iain is an Honorary Member of Lodge Crawfurdsburn.

At the end of the meeting a large number of brethren waited behind for some Lodge hospitality
