Bro John C Glenny PM - 50 Years and counting

50 years to the day since being initiated into No XII, Past Master Bro John Clark Glenny, or Jack as we all know him, received his Golden Jubilee Diploma from RWM Bro Alan Beck at the meeting on 2^nd April.  Bro Jack spoke about his pleasure at being a member of No XII for all these years and of his term as RWM between 1981 and 1983. He also remarked on how delighted he was that the Lodge was doing so well and on the good attendances, the enthusiasm of the members and the extremely high quality of the floor work.  On a more personal level, he indicated that he was very proud to see one of his candidates – Bro Alan Beck – in the Chair and doing such a terrific job.

We were all delighted to see Jack’s brother Alistair, who followed him into the Chair, present.  This was a great surprise to Jack as he didn’t know that he was coming along.  Another couple of No XII stalwarts were along to ‘cheer Jack on’ – former office bearers Jimmy Burns and Robert Paterick.

All in all it was a very happy occasion.  Both Jack and Alistair brought along some archive materials which will be shared with readers of XII Talk in due course.  Some of the photos led us to be asking questions like ‘Are you sure that’s me?’
